Voltage Drop Checker & Plug Reference
Power Checker — Voltage Drop Checker & Plug Reference
Make field decisions faster and more reliably. From conductor conditions, run length, and load, the app calculates ΔV, drop rate, terminal voltage, and recommended cross-sectional area in real time. NEMA/IEC plugs can be cross-checked instantly with search and card-style lists.

Voltage Drop (Calculate)
Input Fields
- Conductor cross-section (mm²), material (Cu / Al), insulation type (PVC70 / XLPE90 / PVC105)
- Ambient temperature (°C), run length (m), supply voltage (V)
- Load current (A) or load power (W)
- Circuit type (DC / Single-phase 2-wire or Three-phase 3-wire)
- Power factor (PF), whether to use reactance and X (Ω/km)
- Allowable voltage drop (%) and optional conductor temperature (°C)
Real-time Outputs
- Voltage drop ΔV, drop rate %, terminal voltage, and (for DC) loop resistance
- Adopted conductor temperature and recommended cross-sectional area (mm²)
- Rating badges: GOOD / CAUTION / NG with a one-line explanation, likely causes, improvement suggestions, and risk notes
- Notes about rules of thumb and calculation conditions
Behavior
- Inputs are debounced and calculated automatically
- Clear warnings for large drop, temperature overrun, insufficient terminal voltage, etc.
Example: Cu / PVC70 / 10 m / 200 V / 10 A → ΔV ≈ 1.024 V, drop ≈ 0.51%, terminal voltage ≈ 198.98 V (reference only)
Plug Quick Reference (Plugs)
- Representative models for NEMA (5/6, L5/L6) and IEC (C5/6/7/8/13/14/15/16/19/20/21/22) shown as cards
- Local images displayed in parallel (P = plug, R = receptacle) to quickly confirm model, voltage, current, and connection class
- Search bar to scan across models and specifications
- Quick tables for NEMA/IEC, an abbreviation guide, and credits/license information
Quick Examples (text)
- NEMA 5-15P/R — 125V 15A
- NEMA L5-15P/R — 125V 15A
- NEMA 6-20P/R — 250V 20A
- IEC C13/C14 — 250V 10A (15A in some regions)
- IEC C15/C16 — 120/250V 10A
- IEC C19/C20 — 250V 16A
For the full list, see the “Plugs” tab in the app.
Common / UI
- Language switch in the header (JA/EN)
- Clear, mobile- and web-friendly UI using Expo Router + React Native Web
- Error handling and fallbacks implemented (e.g., image load failures)
Notes
- This app is a design aid. Final decisions must follow laws/regulations and standards (IEC/NEMA/JIS, etc.) and your internal policies.
- Actual values vary with wiring method, environment, temperature rise, cable bundling, and reactance settings.
